Dennis Hanberg has been involved in the Land Use and Planning fields for nearly 40 years.  He began his career as an Environmental Health Specialist for the Olympic Health District, and migrated into private sector consulting.  He later became a principal with Apex Engineering where he spent nearly 30 years working through land use entitlement and permitting processes for his clients.  In 2011, Dennis returned to the public sector and is currently the Pierce County Director of Planning and Land Services where he is using his land use experience and his passion for problem solving to streamline and improve the permitting process.  He has been instrumental at integrating technology into all aspects of the permitting process.
