Kirby Calvert received his PhD from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Working with the Institute of Energy and Environmental Policy, he studied renewable energy development under one of the most comprehensive policy programs in North America. His work aims to improve the spatial awareness and reasoning guiding the transition toward renewable energy, with emphasis on urban and regional planning. He is currently an assistant professor at the Department of Geography at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada
